Jesse Abraham & PremRock perform an exclusive dual set in Brooklyn, NY in late 2011. The show, headlined by Skyzoo, took place days before Prem took off on his second European tour, and days after Abraham was awarded with the 2011 Underground Music Award for Lyricist of the Year. Known as dynamic live performers on their own, the two emcees presented a unique routine for their hometown crowd, interweaving their sets throughout the performance. Most of the 12 tracks on the album are standouts from their earlier releases such as PremRock’s PremRock & Willie Green and Jesse Abraham’s One Day (both from 2011), and the album includes a freestyle egged on by the audience.
This is a duo that relishes live performance, and Live At Southpaw is a perfect display of their ebullience. Producer Willie Green backs the emcees on stage, creating many of the beats live via drum machine throughout the highly energized set.
